the year is endingHello, my fellow batch members! this past year has been a very memorable one for me and i'm sure for all of us, we do share the same feelings towards the band. from a scrappy and undefined J1 batch to a more matured group facing the upcoming syf. As we look back this year, 2006, from the first performance we had with the J2s, the Saints Ascencio and finally to our exchange programme with SMU, we could see how our batch developed from mere nothing to a band that has the potential to perform music at the highest level. We capped of the year with a good and creditable performance and positive feedbacks from Mr Glosz. Thus, we should build up on the positives and learn from the negatives so that we would not make the same old mistakes next year. We managed to overcome the obstacles, problems and reconcile any indifferences. we know that we can click its just a mtter of whetehr we want to get our act together right?Mr Glosz told our leaders that we just need to be positive and optimistic about ourselves and smile more! That would help us in improving on our job of music making. I totally agree with that. We need the passion that were in us during the good ol' days in Perth. The council members, the SLs and ALs too have worked hard in ensuring that the band runs smoothly and meeting the needs of the band especially during the band camp. Whilst not forgetting the rest, each and everyone of us is an individual cell that makes up the band and thus we are equally important. Looking forward to next year, we've goals to be accomplished, mainly the recruitment, our own concert and the syf itself. I believe that everyone would want to feel the sense of achievement for the concert and the syf and i'd like to encourage you guys to press on these next few months, put in the effort and i'm sure you all would like emulate the success of the previous batches or make it even better. all of us have a part to play and we should encourage and support each other so that no one is left behind. we do want to make this band journey a very special and memorable one not only for Mr Glosz, the teachers and us, but also for sajc band. Let's embrace the new year with the passion in us and welcome the J1s with the most heartiest welcome. Afterall, our job is not just to achieve success for the band only but also to ensure that the legacy of sajc band continues. On behalf of my batch, i'd like to give thanks to Mr Glosz, Mr Benji Yeo, the teachers-in-charge, especially Ms Ho and the Alumni who guided and adviced us on the management of the band and also the encouragement to make good music throughout the year. I am really looking forward to a pleasant and enjoyable year ahead. To the past, present and future members of SAJC Concert Band Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All! take care and have a good week of rest before our band prac starts again! at 1:59 PM 0 comments
