Hello

hello peeps, back to blog again.
anyway are the j1s seeing this? ok so syf and our performances are coming up real soon. the schedules are really hectic and everyone is getting stressed over band and more over school. guess this is the best time to review the basics. still remember that mr glosz told us about how being in band is not about the gold medals, the money and glory u recieve but about the music the passion the enjoyment the entertainment and about giving it your all about the music aspect? yeah. i guess the stronger you push on trying to achieve the gold the more pressure you attain. if you do focus on getting the right sounds and enjoying the music you will concentrate more and attain more on the MUSIC side.

famous jazz drummer ben riley said in one of his interviews, " play wrong. the more you try to play right, the more tension you have, so let it go. you have to make a mistake to be right". DONT BE TO RUSH to get there. be patient and slowly built up. i;ve seen many j2s get over fustrated or disappointed because they cant get it right although the other are way ahead. dont blame yourself or your school's background or how others are putting you down. have a winning mentality and look ahead. get on with it and try your best to improve. the fact is, THERE IS NO BEST. there are no limits to your potential. stop, think through, ask if you have to then keep trying till u get it right. theres no point repeating mistakes again and again. another thing most musicians dont realise is that, sometimes are intentsive practice, we improve even better by taking breaks. dont over push yourselves in other words.

band pracs have been ending pretty late now adays? even im getting stressed up over ms k and stuff. guess ah jie is also facing the pressure. who the hell is angela carter anyway. (for lit students onli). anyway peeps treasure everymin and try your best. but remember studies are your piorities. but have fun too. its like the last year before you enter adult hood. so comeon have fun before you die. its ironic izzint it. sometimes the adults tell u to treasure your life and time and do wadever you want NOW, but then if you wanna quit sch and all they suddenly sae, hey you cannot be irresponsible yada yada, look whos acting philosophical. anyway other ccas are facing alot of pressure? i was talking to my friend from ICS and she told me they were not allowed to enter SYF coz they didnt have a medal before. dumb aint it? and badminton and track have been closed down due to poor performance. so wad about the passion in kids? the teachers aint fighting for them telling the students straight in the face," you want me to lose my rice bowl?" YUCK. wad an attitude. anyway treasure wad we have, at least we are still up and running.

ok guys, mainly i just wanna tell u, when you are at the most intense moment and when everything is very pumped up, the most relaxed person wins.

Deon.
